Sheri Adler '13 was among the students who greeted Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor during her visit to Cardozo earlier this year.
"As editor-in-chief of the Cardozo Law Review, I have thought a lot about what it takes to be successful as a female leader in the legal profession. Meeting Justice Sotomayor taught me that, most importantly, you need to be yourself. I will carry Justice Sotomayor's infectious warmth, charm, and inner strength with me as I forge my own identity as a woman in the law."
In addition to serving as editor-in-chief of the Law Review, Sheri is active in a wide range of interests at Cardozo. She was in the first class of the guardianship clinic and served as a research assistant to both Professors Anthony Sebok and Leslie Newman. After her 1L summer, she worked as a judicial intern for the Hon. Victor Marrero in the Southern District of New York. She is a Dean's Distinguished Scholar, a recipient of the Monrad Paulsen Scholarship, and won the Best Brief award in the 2012 Monrad G. Paulsen Moot Court Competition. Upon graduation, Sheri will be joining Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she spent the summer after her 2L year. She will be clerking for the Hon. Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. on the Third Circuit in 2014.
