Alumni Association Annual Meeting
More than 100 Cardozo alumni gathered to elect new Executive Committee officers and representatives, honor recipients of the Young Leadership and Volunteer Service Awards—Russell Norman ’05 and Marc Lieberstein ’92, respectivelyand celebrate the hundreds of Cardozo couples who met at Cardozo.

The newly elected representatives, who have already begun their terms, are:  Adaeze Udoji ’11, Pedram Tabibi ’09, Ilene Siegel Deutsch ’96, Zorik Pesochinsky ’11 and Jeffrey Mailman ’09. The new slate of officers who will begin their terms on July 1, 2014 are:  Alissa Makower ‘92, chair, Muriel Kaplan ‘80, vice Chair, Kenneth Weiss ‘88, vice Chair, Ilene Fish ’94 vice chair, Sanford Hausler ’87, parliamentarian, Adam Lurie ’00 corresponding secretary, Jose Jara ’95, recording secretary and Vivien Naim ’88, treasurer

New Practice Area Groups
Alumni have formed two new practice groups representing bankruptcy and commercial Litigation practitioners. The Bankruptcy Practice Group is planning a Manhattan event for March 20th and the Commercial Litigation Practice Group is discussing its first event. Both groups will provide opportunities for socializing and networking and will help connect alumni with resources. Members of the Bankruptcy Practice Group Steering Committee are: Alyse Aruch '06, Kenneth L. Baum '92, Jon Blattmachr '08, Jason Finkelstein '09 and Rachel Segall '11.

New Alumni Clubs
A new alumni club was launched in Chicago with a dinner and performance of A Clowncar Named Desire on January 19. If you are interested in joining the leadership committee, have ideas for future events, or just want to stay updated on this group, please email Louise Loeb (louise.loeb@alum.cardozo.yu.edu).

The Mid Atlantic region also formed a new alumni club, co-chaired by Joseph Fontak and Michael Schiff '88, with a kick-off event at the home of Prof. Sheri Rosenberg '94 in Philadelphia in November. Cardozo on the Road
Dean Matthew Diller, along with Associate Dean for Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs 
Patricia Weiss and Director of Alumni Affairs Sharon Ashley Lewis '87, will be visiting Florida and California in the coming months. Receptions for members of the Cardozo community are already planned for Boca Raton and Miami, with dates to be announced shortly for receptions in Los Angeles and San Francisco. California alumni, watch your inboxes for details in the weeks ahead.

Lawyering Skills Month
For more than 20 years, January at Cardozo has meant ITAP, the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. This year, Cardozo has expanded its January options to include similar intensive courses in mediation advocacy, transactional lawyering, and financial statements, as well as human rights seminars in Ecuador and Cambodia. In addition, Cardozo offers a Washington D.C. practice intensive, and a weeklong program in public service. Read More
