Estimated Cost of Attendance
The estimated student budget allows for a simple graduate student lifestyle. This budget determines the total amount of aid (loans, grants, scholarships and resources) that a student may receive in an academic year.
The following rates are based on a full-time fall/spring living expenses budget for the 2015-2016 academic year:
*Federal Loan Program Fees are included in the budget when applicable.
Please Note: The budget for entering students in the "Part-Time J.D. May Program" is based on summer/fall/spring enrollment. Expense budget total: $33,043.
Items Not Covered In The Student Budget
Federal regulations mandate that a student budget include only expenses directly related to the cost of education during periods of active enrollment.
Students who have legitimate educationally related expenses that exceed the academic year Cost of Attendance budget should visit Cardozo's Budget Adjustment Process and Worksheet webpage.
Students applying for need-based grant assistance from Cardozo and/or federal loans must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Cardozo's Title IV code number for the FAFSA is listed under Yeshiva University: 002903. You may file the FAFSA as early as January 1 online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Please note: If you are claimed as a dependent on your parents' tax returns, you must complete the parental information section of the FAFSA or submit a signed copy of the parental tax return in order to be considered for institutional need-based assistance.
Do not wait for acceptance to the Law School to apply for financial assistance. Students submitting forms that arrive in the Office of Student Finance later than the appropriate deadline date risk being considered for financial aid after those who submit all required documents on time.
Cardozo's Office of Student Finance reviews financial aid applications and notifies admitted students of their need-based award eligibility on a rolling basis.
We strongly recommend that you submit your FAFSA no later than:
- April 1 for Fall or May entry (2015-2016 FAFSA form)
- December 1 for January entry (2015-2016 FAFSA form)
