In the past ten years, unprecedented inroads have been made toward equal rights for gay, lesbian and transgender individuals. In fact, New York City has a comprehensive law against discrimination in the employment context on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. However, the question of whether to be out on your resume, whether to bring your partner to a work function, and matters of gender expression can still cause anxiety to many.
