Igniting Your Job Search for LLMs - One Handshake, One Cover Letter, One Interview at a Time

Date

October 31, 2013 - 4:00pm to 5:15pm

Igniting your legal career can be a taxing undertaking. This task seems even more difficult as a foreign student where cultural and linguistic differences present additional challenges. However, if you dissect the job search into its constituent parts and learn to leverage your differences and foreign training, then the daunting becomes possible. Mark Goldfarb will discuss how to devise a strategic, individualized job search plan that combines your strengths and interests. Mark will then discuss networking techniques, including how to reach out to persons and organizations of interest. In addition, armed with your strategic plan, we will discuss the contours of a successful outreach email and cover letter. Lastly, we will discuss the International Student Interview Program (ISIP), which is designed to recruit LLM students interested in returning to their non-US degree-holding country.
