The Jacob Burns Center for Ethics in the Practice of Law and the ABA Criminal Justice Section present:

Protecting Fair Trials in High-Profile Criminal Cases

This panel will celebrate the publication of the American Bar Association's newest Criminal Justice Standards on Fair Trial and Free Press issues. The Fourth Edition of these Standards, now entitled "Fair Trial and Public Discourse" to reflect the changed nature of today's media environment, has just been published along with its commentary.

The topic could not be more timely, as every day we are confronted with the difficult issues presented by balancing the need to keep the public informed with the rights of criminal defendants to a fair trial and of all persons caught up in criminal investigations to be treated fairly.
