In its Kirtsaeng v. Wiley decision this week, holding that the First Sale Doctrine applies to all non-pirated goods, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the Second Circuit holding that the doctrine applied only to materials manufactured in the U.S. With this SCOTUS decision, libraries can keep lending books, and students can continue to buy and sell used books.
