You may apply to begin your studies in the Fall term (August) or in the Spring term (January).
You may attend Cardozo on either a full-time or part-time basis. A full-time student must complete his or her degree requirements in two consecutive semesters. A part-time student has up to three years or six semesters to complete the degree requirements. While most classes are taught during the day, some upper-level electives are offered in the evenings.
Whatever route you choose, you will become part of a warm, supportive community that includes members from every corner of the globe. With the guidance of the Office of Graduate and International Programs and the rest of the administration, you will be fully integrated into a diverse student body of almost 1,200. You will find people who speak your language—who know where you’re coming from and where you’d like to go. The interchange between Cardozo's domestic and international students creates a vibrant atmosphere and gives you an edge in your increasingly globalized profession. And what better place for that interchange to take place than New York City—a metropolis that mirrors the world?
Together, you and your fellow students will take advantage of all New York City has to offer as the center for legal communities focused on business and finance, intellectual property and international law—not to mention a dynamic cultural scene. The city becomes your classroom through a rich program of extracurricular speakers, conferences, clinics and the experiential learning opportunities for which Cardozo is renowned—from our Human Rights and Genocide Clinic to our Tax Clinic.
Our stellar faculty members will actively engage in a dialogue with you, our career counselors will guide you, and our worldwide network of alumni will provide mentoring and networking opportunities. Whether you are looking to qualify for the New York State Bar Exam, specialize in a particular practice area, or take your legal career in a different direction, an LL.M. degree at Cardozo Law is a chance to meet your career goals while gaining a deeper understanding of how law and legal systems affect our entire society.
