The Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy protects democracy by empowering future legal leaders to understand and defend its core institutions.
The Center serves as a vigorous hub for scholarship, public engagement, and student empowerment focused on sustaining and strengthening constitutional democracies both in the U.S. and abroad. The Center also empowers students as Floersheimer Student Fellows and supports non-partisan election-related efforts through its “Cardozo Votes” initiative.
The Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice at Cardozo Law: Seeking Justice for the Unjustly Incarcerated
The PCLJ trains students and lawyers in the proper use of scientific evidence, focusing on the misuse of “junk science” in contributing to wrongful convictions. In addition, the Center seeks justice for those individuals incarcerated with excessive sentences through parole work and clemency requests.
The Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention Clinic Shines a Light on Global Genocide and Mass Atrocities
As part of the Cardozo Law Institute in Holocaust and Human Rights (CLIHHR), the Benjamin B. Ferencz Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention (HRAP) Clinic provides students with hands-on legal training under the supervision of clinical professors and faculty members. The Clinic adheres to the Institute’s three-part strategy of preventing genocide and mass atrocities, recognizing that it implies protecting populations and rebuilding during and after crisis. The HRAP Clinic trains the next generation of human rights advocates while offering students the opportunity to make a difference.
The Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution Leads the Next Generation of Problem Solvers
From conflict resolution to mediation, the Kukin Program is training the next generation of lawyers in service of their clients and society. In addition, the Program is home to the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and sponsors an annual symposium on critical issues in domestic and international dispute resolution.

A key component of our Intellectual Property and Information Law program, ranked #6 by U.S. News, the FAME Center offers exceptional opportunities at the intersection of law and business across the fashion, performing and visual arts, entertainment, sports, industrial design, media, and film and streaming industries. Students gain hands-on experience through clinics such as the Filmmakers Legal Clinic, the Entrepreneurship and Community Business Clinic, and the Patent Diversity Project Clinic.
